Naturopathy
The foundation of natural medicine can be traced back to Hippocrates in 400 B.C. and is based on principles of disease prevention and health maintenance by using safe, gentle and natural remedies. A naturopath looks for the cause of illness, rather than treating the effects or symptoms, thus treating the whole person; including physical, emotional, mental & spiritual factors.
As a client:
· you will have a role in your own healing process
· you will understand the importance of diet, exercise & lifestyle factors which influence health & wellbeing
· you will experience renewed energy & vitality gained by working with the body's innate healing abilities
Monika combines several healing methods to restore energy flow of the body to its natural state of good health including herbal medicine, nutritional advice, lifestyle coaching, Bach flower remedies and ear candling.
Herbal Medicine
Herbs and plants were our first medicines and food, and predate recorded history. Herbal medicine is the oldest and still the most widely used system of medicine in the world today. This medicine is made exclusively from plants and is used in all societies and cultures. Using plants as medicine provides significant advantages for treating many conditions. The therapeutic activity of a plant is due to its complex chemical nature with different parts of the plant providing certain therapeutic effects.
A Medical Herbalist is a practitioner highly trained in the philosophies, principles and practice of western herbal medicine and medical science, who takes a holistic view towards health and illness and who will assess you as a person not a disease.
Monika prescribes and dispenses plant medicines in a safe and effective manner, seeking to treat the underlying cause of the problem, while acknowledging the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
