Herbal Medicine The use of plants to aid healing is perhaps the oldest of the healing arts with medicinal herbs being found in the personal effects of the "ice man", whose body was frozen in the Swiss Alps for more than 5,300 years.
Couple this with the fact that naturally occuring substances are metabolized by well-established metabolic processes as opposed to man made pharmaceuticals which have toxic side effects. This leads us to conclude that Herbal Medicine is not only well established but much safer. Naturopathy Naturopathy focuses on natural remedies and the bodies ability to heal and maintain itself with a correct lifestyle. The essential factors required for a healthy life are:
· daily gentle exercise to maintain circulation (walking, taiji, yoga)
· eating a wide variety of food to ensure adequate nutrients (natural, as mother earth made it)
· a good nights sleep
· a relaxed attitude towards life (generate positive emotions)
